Paris Paraolympics 2024 update: Which sports are included in Paralympics?
The Paris Paralympics have started from August 28, with the opening ceremony taking place at Place de la Concorde and Champs Elysees. This year, 84 athletes are participating from India in 12 sports, which is the highest number till date. 4000 athletes from all over the world will participate in these games. It includes 22 sports. In which there are team games as well as single ones.

1. Para-Archery
Para-Archery was one of the eight Paralympic sports at the first Games in Rome in 1960. Since then, it has spread all over the world. At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, 140 athletes will compete for a place on the podium at Les Invalides.
2. Para Athletics
Para Athletics Paris 2024 will be the largest event on the Paralympic Games programme in terms of number of participants and medal events, with 1,069 athletes competing in 164 medal events, including the fan-favourite 100m and marathon.
3. Para-badminton
Para-badminton is a fast-paced racket sport characterized by dynamic action and powerful, fast shots. It will compete for the first time at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. In Paris, 120 athletes will compete in 16 medal events.
4. Blind football
Blind football is a men's version of small-field football adapted for athletes with visual impairments. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, eight teams from Brazil, Argentina, Morocco, France, China, Japan, Colombia and Turkey will compete for a place on the winner's podium at the foot of Paris' famous Eiffel Tower.
5. Boccia
Boccia is one of two non-Olympic sports on the Paris 2024 program. A total of 124 athletes will compete in 11 medal events at the South Paris Arena.
6. Paracanoeing
Paracanoeing is a fierce battle between the fastest paddlers on calm waters. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, more than 100 athletes will show off their strength, skill and determination to reach the finish line.
7. Paracycling
Paracycling On August 29, the day after the opening ceremony, athletes from around the world will show off their speed and technique in cycling events. Paracycling consists of two events, road and track, and there is a lot to see.
8. Para-Riding
Para-Riding Para-Equestrian is the only artistic sport at the Paralympic Games, first held in Atlanta in 1996. 9. Paragoalball Goalball
Paragoalball Goalball is a fast and intense game played exclusively by athletes with visual impairments. It is one of two non-Olympic sports included in the Paris 2024 program. Eight teams, including host country France, will compete in the men's and women's tournaments at the Paris 2024 Games.
10. Paralympic Judo
Paralympic Judo is a sport open only to the visually impaired. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, 148 athletes will compete in 16 medal events.
11. Para Powerlifting
Para Powerlifting is the ultimate test of upper body strength. It is one of the fastest growing para sports in terms of numbers of participants. 180 athletes will take part in the Paris 2024 Games.
12. Para Rowing
Para Rowing is the ultimate test of strength and endurance. At Paris 2024, athletes will row 2,000 meters in oared boats, competing for the fastest time in a six-lane battle. At Paris 2024, 104 athletes will compete in five medal events.
13. Paralympic Shooting
Paralympic Shooting Competitions At the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, 160 athletes from around the world will showcase their talent and skill. The Châteauroux Shooting Centre in central France will host 13 medal events.
14. Sitting volleyball
Sitting volleyball is a team sport that requires constant movement, communication and explosive explosiveness. Eight men's teams and eight women's teams will compete in the Paris 2024 Games. Para Table Tennis is characterised by fast, explosive rallies. 280 athletes compete for gold medals in 31 medal events.
17. Para Taekwondo
Para Taekwondo is a contact sport known for fast, powerful kicks to the body. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, 120 athletes will compete for medals in 10 events.
18. Paratriathlon
In paratriathlon, endurance, strength and reliable teamwork are required to reach the finish line. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, 120 athletes will compete in 11 medal events.
19. Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair basketball brings an exciting twist to the Paralympics. Eight men's and eight women's national teams will compete in the French capital.
20. Wheelchair Fencing
Wheelchair fencing was one of eight sports competed at the first Paralympic Games in 1960 and has been part of every Summer Games since then. In Paris 2024, 96 wheelchair fencers will compete in 16 medal events.
21. Wheelchair Rugby
Wheelchair rugby is a full-contact sport that was added to the Paralympic Games more than 20 years ago. Eight teams will compete in Paris: France, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Japan and the United States.
22.Wheelchair Tennis
Wheelchair tennis is a sport that requires dynamic movement, strategy and incredible racquet skills. 96 athletes from around the world will compete in six medal events at the legendary Roland Garros Stadium.
